On my father's side, my grandfather's family were British and immigrated to the United States in the early-1700s. My dad's mother is Austrian and immigrated to the United States in the mid-1800s. On my mother's side, her mother was British French and immigrated to the United States in the late 1800s. She never met her father, but we've been told he was from a similar background to her mother–British and French and immigrating around a similar time, maybe later. My step-mother is Brazilian and immigrated to the U.S. in the early 2000s.
